![]() ![]() Like it didn't even have uppercuts.ĭeception was a solid refinement. ![]() Has its place in history, but not compelling on its own.ĭA was an interesting first step to something more complicated and a real shakeup, but largely the new characters were poor and it missed on a lot of the personality. MK4 was a janky first-experiment with 3D. Are the other games any better? Worth going back to? Or are Youtube videos enough exposure for someone who didn't like MK4 at all? I hated the bad 3D (even for the time), the weapon system, the new characters, and pretty much everything about the game. MK4 disappointed me so much back in the day that I never went back to the series. I heard Shaolin Monks is good, and also co-op, so I might actually go and play that one (especially since, taking place between MK1 and MK2, it would also be mostly canon to the new timeline). ![]() My love for the MK lore has since been reinvigorated to be stronger than it ever was before, but the original timeline after MK3 is still a major blank spot for me, particularly because these games are hard to find or play, having never received ports of any kind to modern day systems. Like many others, I was a huge fan of MK during the original trilogy, but fell off of the series until MK9 rebooted it with a new timeline. While I've researched what happens in these games on wikis and through Youtube videos, I have never played any of them outside of a brief rental of MK4 back at release. ![]()
